๑ Sei ๑ Action ๑
A. [Romana hadn't even glanced twice at the small package, setting down her knife on the chopping board as she opened it. As soon as the flap was lifted, the memories rushed back in Romana gasping as she stiffened.
Germany... Germany. He had come to her world in the past, Mayfield wasn't their first meeting. She swallows, letting the letter drop, turning the stove off in a daze. And then she snapped to attention, moving in quick military precision as she grabbed her coat and left the house, door banging shut.
She had to find him. Had to see if he remembered what they had shared, what they had done. Her breath appears on the air as she runs straight to his house, banging on the the front door with a fist, shaking slightly as she waits impatiently for him to answer his door.]
Germania, dammit, Germania, will you open the door per favore!
[There's no anger in her voice, just frustration, and slight worry. They were torn apart once before what was to say that their relationship wouldn't be interfered with again? Finally she slams her hand against the door once more, desperation completely clear]
Ludwig, bambino, open the door, per favore!

I don't what he did, but everything I've ever done is to protect my Sorellina. World War Two... [She grips her left shoulder as phantom pain stabs her] I was weakened. I wasn't strong enough to push the Nazi's and the Allies out at the same time... America, Inghilterra.... they said they would help.
[Taking a deep breath she forces on] Germania, not your fratello, but the cagna from my world took my sister, made her a puppet state. What would you do if that was done to your sister huh?
I had nothing to do with what the Allies did with you, or Germania. I only needed them to get my sorellina back, and so yes, I signed a deal with the devil, turned my back on them, you, whatever, to save her. [She sounds tired, worn out as she glances to Germany before looking at the floor, her voice cracking every time she tries to speak again, until she just gives up.]

[He scowls blackly at Romana, his attention entirely on her now.]
And you think I haven't? I'm trying to protect him right now, even though god knows he doesn't deserve it! My brother and your Germany did the exact same fucking thing, and you still think you're in love with him? Then go back to your own Germany and leave mine the hell alone! He's an idiot, but he's young, what the fuck ever - you, at least, should know better! You're not even from the same fucking world! You still haven't answered my question - what the hell do you plan on doing? Leave your sister and your world for ours?
[His eyes snap back to Germany and he jabs a finger into his chest.] Or maybe you plan on turning your back against your own family and heading to hers, huh? Or staying here and forgetting all about what you owe your people? Running away from your duty for the sake of a love that isn't even real? Because if that's the case, then tell me right now, and I swear I'll walk out that door and you won't ever have to deal with me again.
[Panting slightly, he takes a step back and spreads his arms mockingly.] So what's it going to be, you two? You're gonna have to make the choice sooner or later, might as well make it now. If Romana wants to come back to our world, betray her own sister and never see her again for love, then that's fine with me. I'll even throw the two of you a fucking party to show how supportive I am, hey.
[1/3]
He lifts dazed eyes to Prussia.] You found us just minutes after we'd confirmed with each other that our memories had returned. Do not assume that seeing us embracing means that we're ready to throw away everything else dear to us in both our lives, both our worlds.
You're being cruel. Stop using this as an excuse to let out your obvious contempt for me for whatever it is I did in my future, and give me a chance to sort this out, with each of you.
[But with who? What should he say? How can he possibly reconcile this situation?
How could the best and worst feelings he's ever experienced in his entire life occur within the same day...]

But she does nothing, taking a shuddering breath. Just how much has she screwed up, she almost asks. But she holds it in, swallowing before quietly asking:]
I'll come with you... if you want me. [Slowly she glances up at Prussia, waiting for his answer.]

[The explosive rage has left his voice, and now Prussia just looks and sounds defeated. Why had he come here again? To yell at Germany for being an idiot, to convince himself that reunification was a terrible idea, to at least attempt to reconcile with a brother he hadn't even seen in twenty years?
...well, the answer was obvious enough, wasn't it? When he'd regained his memories, it hadn't been America he'd run to first, but Germany - he loved them both fiercely, if in different ways, but even from behind a wall, furious and desperately trying to prove himself against his own little brother, Prussia would always side with family over anyone else. Even when working together with America to bring down his own government, it had always been for Germany's sake, to free him from his insane boss. And to have that thrown into his face again, to find out that evidently he was the only one who felt that way....
All of a sudden, he doesn't want to be here anymore, can't even stand looking at the two of them close together, siding against him and shutting him out. It's enough to drown out even his refusal to let either one of them out of his sight. Prussia's had more than enough of being isolated after the last two decades, and it's painfully clear now that he's not wanted around anyway. Besides, if Germany was going to choose a near complete stranger over his own flesh and blood, then Prussia could do that too.]
Yeah, I've already got plans for today...and they're with someone way more awesome and fun than either of you! I don't even know why I bothered coming here when I could have been hanging out with them instead!
[He glares at Germany.]
We're going to have a talk about this later though. And as for you - [disgusted scoff at Romana] - don't even think about trying anything funny with him or I'll know! I've got eyes fucking everywhere, you can't escape from my Stasi!
[In other words, he's going to send Bird to stalk them both, then bug their houses while they're gone. And also throw bombs at them if he sees anything inappropriate going on because there is no sex in the Soviet Union. And also because he's angry and it's fun.]

He'll go to training exercises as he said, and then return home to call in sick to work. Along the way, he can't help but notice his neighbors aren't smiling as Romana and he walk arm-in-arm down the street. He hasn't shown any physical affection toward her other than that, by the way, Romana; he'll accept her affections, however.
Hanging up the phone after his call to work, he speaks.] I don't care what he said about you, just so you know. You don't need to explain what he said right now, or ever, if you think it doesn't matter. If you think so, then it won't matter to me, either.
I learned from England, here in Mayfield, that I will lose the war at home. I've tried to hide from any other details about it, but I've been here with nations from different periods in history so long, escape from the truth has finally proven impossible. [He can tell her everything he's ever worried about. The blessing of finding love, being able to bear his soul; such a terrifying freedom, it is.] I am aware now that I am destined to lose my way and hurt many of those close to me. Bruder is strong; what we saw earlier was likely only the tip of the iceberg to the hardships he's had to deal with over the decades since my defeat.
Even so, he still-- [Voice breaking off, Germany leaves his mouth hanging open where it stopped. Even with all that pain, Prussia still sought him out first thing in the morning after coming back to Mayfield from the 60s... Slowly, Germany lifts a claw-like hand to his face, covering eyes that have already started to overflow with tears.]

She takes a seat as he makes a call, her shoes sitting neatly before the couch as she curls up, still upset. Prussia's words had cut deep, and she barely pays attention to Germany's words. Until his voice cracks, making her look up, stand up. In an instant she's next to him, guiding him down into an armchair, perching on one arm so she can hold him close, finger combing his hair]
I-It's okay, tesoro... we'll fix this, I promise... we all... we all fall, Prussia knows that, he... he'll come to accept us, you're his brother. He will never hate you, you never can. [Prussia hating her though... that is a possibility, a very likely one. But she's a proud and strong woman, she'll hold her head up high and refuse to back down. She's not letting Germany go this time.
But for now, she keeps stroking his head, holding him to her chest as she rocks slightly, humming softly as if to help soothe him] Just let it out, si, you'll feel better Ludwig...
no subject
I'm going to go talk to him now, if he'll have it. I want to talk to you about everything, [Ashamed of how greedy he's being, he can't look up at her as he continues] about what you mean to me, about what we should do, but every minute I spend away from him I grow...colder, somehow.
I don't know what he'll say or how he'll accept what I have to say, but I have to go. He doesn't understand what those memories mean to me. You, even, might not understand. [He rests a hand on her knee, finally turning his gaze up.] I want to find a way to show that to both of you.
no subject
She repeats that, until she feels herself grow numb. It's better than crying at least. Swallowing, she slowly strokes his hair, moving to cup his cheek as he looks up] I-I know you do... You wouldn't be yourself if you didn't try to repair this. You wouldn't... wouldn't be the man I love if you didn't.
[Her hand starts to tremble and she takes it away, holding it in her lap. She looks away, fingers curling in the skirt as she tries to hold back a breaking dam.] But I... I don't want... What if... I don't want you to go, when I've only just remembered... [Her voice cracks, Romana covering her mouth as her shoulders shake with repressed sobs, Romana refusing to look up]
no subject
I'm sorry. Please, Meine liebe, when I'm back we'll have the rest of the day. [He reaches to pull her onto his lap and whisper against her forehead between kisses.] Please...
[He gently tries to coax the hand away from her mouth, so he might kiss it, too.]
Chiara...
no subject
[At first she resists his attempts to move her hand, not want for him to see her like this, hear her like this. Eventually she gives in, shivering and biting her lower lip] Ti amo... per favore, just stay...
no subject
[He can't stay. But he'll prolong for little longer, even though Prussia's despair and tear-filled face looms on the back of his mind.]
We've been able to make a few memories already, thanks to this place. If only I'd remembered the moment I saw you again...
no subject
But she knows she'll have to move soon, let him go and do the damage control. He won't be able to rest until he does.]
Si... but we... we have now at least... And we can be together here. [Until they find a way home that is.]
no subject
Kiss me, Chiara. [He gently strokes fingers along her jaw.Something inside him is telling him he needs to grab onto this moment with her right now; he shakes off the fear, and tells himself that he's simply happy to be able to kiss her, like he did then.] Please...
no subject
Kiss... [Slowly she nods, shifting slightly so she straddles his lap, staring down at him through her lashes. This is one of the few times she's taller so she holds back, though it's partially to tease him. Her fingers run over his cheek as she leans down, her lips meeting his, Romana sinking down into his lap again. Her eyes closes as she keeps contact with his lips, happy to keep it slow for now.]
no subject
He keeps it up for a little while, but he can't let it go any longer or it would make parting with her even harder. He breaks away to kiss her cheeks, the bridge of her nose, her forehead.
He pulls away, smoothing a hand over one of her legs. Time to get up...]
no subject
[She doesn't give him time to answer, kissing him again, the one much more passionate than the last as she nips his lower lip, pressing closer]
no subject
--but he answers her kiss after a second of wavering, especially thanks to feeling her press closer against him. He wanted to wait and talk more before they revisited their old intimate levels again, but...
At any rate, if she lets off him ever, he whispers breathlessly.] Five. I must go after that, Miene liebe, only five...
no subject
[And she refuses to waste a single minute, cupping his face and kissing him again, soft, teasing kisses that never really go anywhere as she tries to provoke him into acting too.
Then again, he can be rather slow on the emotional level...] Touch me, per favore, don't make me do it all...
no subject
He leans forward to try to catch her lips in more substantial kisses, falling for the bait easily. Part of him still wonders how much he should allow, before they've had a chance to talk...
So strange, so liberating it is to internally reply with a "meh" to his worries. Hands search over the curves of Romana's torso, making his chest ache at being able to do so after so many years apart, unknowing.]
no subject
Even being prepared for what's coming doesn't stop Prussia from gagging in disgust when he breaks into Germany's house again and walks in on the two making out like there's no tomorrow. Sorry, guys, but your makeout session is about to get interrupted by two bottles of ice-cold water being dumped over your heads. There is no sex in the Soviet Union.]

Every kiss he gives her is met, Romana trying not to smirk. He's so easy to distract, given that you know the right temptations for him. A part of her chides her manipulative actions, for being the temptress when she really should let him go and try and smooth things over with Prussia. But she squashes that voice, burying it deep down. She sick of listening to what's best, she wants to do something that she truly wants. She shudders at the feel of his hands over her body, so close but yet still kept back by her clothing. It's not the same as his touches on her bare skin, not the same as their first time. She whines softly, shifting slightly--]
